Axalta Coating Systems will display its entire Energy Solutions product family and newly developed industry applications at the Coil Winding, Insulations & Electrical Manufacturing Exhibition (CWIEME) taking place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Convention Center in Shanghai on June 28-30, 2016, booth number D23 in Hall 2. This year’s participation at CWIEME in Shanghai will also help celebrate Axalta’s 150th anniversary in the coatings industry. Axalta developed its first oil-free synthetic wire enamel in 1942, which established the superior quality standards that characterized its initial Voltatex brand. The integrated Energy Solutions family of products including wire enamel, impregnating resins and electrical steel coatings now covers a broad range of products for multiple applications such as electric motors, generators and transformers. Visitors to the CWIEME show will have the opportunity to see these products and learn more about their performance and contribution to the environment by helping to more efficiently generate electricity or conserve energy. Formaldehyde-free coatings eliminate the need to de-gas in enclosed generators and perform time-consuming and cost-intensive air-flushing processes. The Energy Solutions wire enamel range of products now boasts more than fifty-six products in seven series including Voltron® Corona Resistant Systems, polyurethane, THEIC-Polyester, THEIC-Polyesterimide, polyamideimide, polyvinylformal, and selfbonding products, under Voltatex and Voltron brands. Axalta Energy Solutions products offer high heat-resistance, high mechanical stability, excellent adherence to copper and resistance to transformer oil due to unique materials and processes. These products can be applied to everything from fine wire for miniaturized electronic components to heavy-round and rectangular conductors for large motors, as well as small electrical motors, and large generators and transformers. Fifteen water-soluble thermosetting coating products belonging to Axalta’s sophisticated electrical steel coatings line will also be on display. They are the superior choice for high-speed curing applications, such as in NIR technology, where they can improve punching and corrosion protection, as well as the electrical insulation of electrical steel. Thanks to their outstanding adhesion and high elasticity, no special punching and cutting tools are needed. Axalta’s range of impregnating resins, which are key components in modern motors, generators and transformers, now includes a total of twenty-eight products in four categories: unsaturated polyesters, impregnating varnishes, finishing varnishes and PUR casting resins. They are designed to turn the laminated core and the wire windings into a homogenous and mechanically stable unit, providing excellent environmental protection as well as improving heat transfer between wire windings, slot insulation and the iron core. China represents the fastest-growing market for Axalta’s Energy Solutions products, and has quickly become a dynamic center of innovation and development for Voltatex and Voltron product lines. More than half of the nine new products launched globally in the last three years have been developed in China, or the origin of their development has been first and foremost to satisfy a need in the Chinese market.
